OVERVIEW
Join us for a TiE Silicon Valley/ICC/Pan-IIT partnered event, ‘Why Can’t India Produce Nobel Laureates?’
In this talk, Rajesh Gopakumar, an eminent researcher and Director of ICTS-TIFR will share his thoughts on what needs to be done to nurture India’s future Nobel Laureates. It will be an insightful conversation addressing one of one of the key shortcomings of modern India on the world stage.
DESCRIPTION
The future of India is closely tied to the quality of scientific and technological advances coming out of the country. In reality, Indian science and technology are not generating the kind of creative breakthroughs which reshape the landscape of ideas. Rather than be paralyzed by thinking that nothing will change until everything changes, Rajesh will make the argument that there is indeed a pathway to India becoming a global Science and Tech powerhouse, with its fair share of Nobel Prizes, Fields medals and so on.
For more information, Rajesh Gopakumar recently wrote an article on the topic: Building a Home for India’s Future Nobel Laureates
